Dongjyu and Sijyu are the two large islands at most
south of Matsu Island Chain. Since the two islands look like tow dogs
lying at outer ocean of Min River, they are named as “Dongcyuan” and “Sicyuan”
in former times. With the sight of the military installation that can
be seen everywhere and the vast expression of the ocean blending into
the sky, Jyuguang is full of unadorned natural beauty.

Fujheng Village
Fujheng Village, close to Dongcyuan Lighthouse, was
once a glorious town. However, when its population decreases along with
the decline of this fishery village, only broken stone house remained.
At present, the Government is repairing them, though. As for the Fujheng
Beach on the side, the sand is white and fine; when you walk along the
beach, you may experience the quietness of Fujheng.

Doncyuan lighthouse
The Doncyuan lighthouse was built by the British in
1872 and it is the only 2nd-level ancient remain in Matsu. The lighthouse
is approximately 19.5M in height and it is the first western lighthouse
built from granite. When you ascend the lighthouse’s spiral stone stairs,
you may see glass lens in shape of a shell, light shield made with cast
iron in an arched shape, and a wing sock on top of the lighthouse.

Dapu Inscription
The Dapu inscription records the brave history of General
Sheng Yurong catching Japanese pirates alive during the Wan-Li Years of
the Ming Dynasty. The little piece granite stele witness the past history
of pirate gathering at Matsu and is now listed as a 3rd-level ancient
remain. |
